Country Hearts opened its door on October 1, 1987 in the Bradford Green Shopping Center in Monroe. We were a small country store with only 750 square feet and offered decorative painting classes in addition to selling some adorable country gifts and items for the country home. Our walls were hand stencilled and we had checkered curtains on our windows. We were so "country." We quickly outgrew our space 1 1/2 years later and moved into a 1100 square foot space. More stencilling needed to be done. During our third year we grew again and relocated to Clock Tower Square, also in Monroe, and leased two large storefronts. My stencilling days were over and more traditional, non-country items were added. Before we knew it we added a third storefront and now occupy over 4,500 square feet of wonderful gifts and accessories.
Country Hearts evolved over these years from a charming country store selling all things country from furniture to dolls as well as decorative painting supplies. In May of 1997 I decided to change the direction we were going in and we've been changing ever since. Along the way Brighton and Vera Bradley were added as well as so many other exciting lines. In August of 2012, I took down a storage room and made it into our new clothing area. It was quite scary but so very exciting. We have two dressing rooms and lots of women's clothing! The response has been wonderful and we're having so much fun.
Even though our name says country, we are now far from a country store. We have become one of the largest gift and boutique shops in Fairfield Country. Trendy, fashion forward one-stop shopping are just a few of the ways we are described. More importantly, our service is warm and friendly and my staff is awesome.
We are now a women's boutique and gift store with extensive lines of beautiful jewelry, handbags, apparel, home decor, baby & children's gifts, greeting cards, and much more! We're constantly growing and expanding, including the sales of our exclusive products online. Keep checking back for the latest updates.
If you're in the area please stop by! We would love to meet you. We're located in Clock Tower Square, Monroe, CT, directly on Route 25 (Main St). See the map below for more info and directions...
